Bush craft
Venture deeper into the art of living wild, with bush craft.
Bush craft can be described as the art of living in a natural environment. It is a set of skills and knowledge which enable you to survive outdoors without the luxuries and appliances of the modern world. In its purest sense, it is coming back to basics with the ability to provide your own shelter, warmth, food and water in any environment.
A half day workshop with Living Wild will guide you through the basics of Bush craft. Beginning with a guided meditation to help you to arrive in the woods, and feel grounded and connected. You will forage for wild food and useful medicinal plants, practice your knife skills and learn about natural tinder, before refining your fire making skills and cooking over the fire. Taking time in nature to let your wild side free. Please contact if you are interested in booking this half day workshop.
You may wish to include bush craft in a bespoke workshop where you can choose which elements you would like to explore. You can choose from :
Fire lighting - using natural resources, tinder and fuel selection, effective fire building methods, using a flint and steel.
Foraging for food and medicine
Fire cooking
Making natural cordage with bark and plant fibers
Weaving a basic basket using brambles or willow
Basic knife skills - wood selection and whittling a mushroom
Bush craft can be for all groups and ages, whether its a family day, and educational group or a group of friends! Please get in touch if you have any questions, special requests or to book.
